<p><i>Where have all the cowboys gone?</i> Red Dead Redemption 2 is the latest from Rockstar games, the developers that brought us <em>Grand Theft Auto</em>. Rockstar has been thoroughly praised for the thoughtful and innovative curation of the music in its games, highlights include a virtual radio station hosted by <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&q=flying+lotus" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Flying Lotus</strong></a> and an in-game appearance from <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&q=black+madonna" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>The Black Madonna</strong></a>. The game is a cultural force in the mainstream, as well - the initial version of "Old Town Road" by <strong>Lil Nas X</strong> featured a homemade video made from in-game footage. The story of the game is set in 1889 in a fictionalized pastiche of the American midwest, as the player struggles against government forces, rival gangs, and the overall decline of the pre-dustbowl Plains. The soundtrack was produced by Grammy winner <strong>Daniel Lanois</strong> (<a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&q=bob+dylan" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Bob Dylan</strong></a>, <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&q=neil+young" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Neil Young</strong></a>, in addition to several collaborations with <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&q=brian+eno" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Eno</strong></a> and <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&q=u2" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>U2</strong></a>, including <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&q=joshua+tree" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>The Joshua Tree</em></a>), and features several tracks penned and performed by him. Also includes an exclusive track by <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&q=d%27angelo" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>D’Angelo</strong></a> and two versions of “Cruel World”, one sung by <a href="https://turntablelab.com/search?type=product&q=willie+nelson" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Willie Nelson</strong></a>, one by <strong>Josh Homme</strong> (<a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&q=queens+of+the+stone+age" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>QOTSA</strong></a>).
