<p><i>After catching 2 shows of the recent Pixies NYC date, I'm motherfuckin <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&amp;q=pixies" target="_blank"><strong>Pixies</strong></a> crazzzeeee!</i> They're definitely the best rock band I've seen live (and I've seen Ted Nugent in his reunion tour, cat scratch feva!!!). It's ridiculous how humble and anti-glam they are, the set is just relentless (they play 90% of <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/products/pixies-doolittle-vinyl-lp" target="_blank"><em>Doolittle</em></a>, "Tame" is freaking ridiculous) and <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?&amp;q=Frank%20Black&amp;filter=Brand/Manufacturer/Artist_fq:%22Frank%20Black%22%20OR%20Brand/Manufacturer/Artist_fq:%22Pixies%22" target="_blank"><strong>Frank Black</strong></a> is the king of War Pigs (and <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&amp;q=Kim+Deal" target="_blank"><strong>Kim Deal</strong></a> is the kindergarten teacher that did too many drugs)! They even played both versions of "Wave of Mutilation" in the same set, take that! Anyway, this is their debut mini-album from 1987, drawn from the <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/products/pixies-pixies-colored-vinyl-vinyl-lp" target="_blank">"legendary" <strong data-mce-fragment="1">Pixies</strong> demos</a> and includes "Caribou", "Levitate Me", and "I've Been Tired" (Reader tip: search "Pixies Coachella" on your favorite file sharing program for a taste of that live stuff). 8 tracks in all, recommended.</p> <ul> <li>180g black vinyl pressing</li> <li>music label: 4AD 2004</li> </ul> <h6>reviewed by the mgmnt 05/2005</h6>
