<p><i>Twelfth studio album from legendary David Bowie.</i> <i>Heroes</i> was originally recorded in 1977 with <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&amp;q=Brian+Eno" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Brian Eno</strong></a> and <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&amp;q=Tony+Visconti" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Tony Visconti</strong></a> at the helm. It is the second installment in Bowie's lauded <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&amp;q=%22Berlin+Trilogy%22" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Berlin Trilogy</a>. Bowie used much of the same personnel that recorded his previous album, <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&amp;q=bowie+low" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><i>Low</i></a>. Drummer <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&amp;q=%22Dennis+Davis%22" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Dennis Davis</strong></a>, bassist <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&amp;q=%22George+Murray%22" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>George Murray</strong></a>, and guitarist <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&amp;q=%22Carlos+Alomar%22" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Carlos Alomar</strong></a> provided a krautrock infused back drop for the synth wizardry of Eno and Bowie's own experimentation. The album is split into two parts with vocal tracks taking up the a side and largely ambient instrumentals on the flip. Further setting this album apart is the inclusion of <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&amp;q=%22King+Crimson%22" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>King Crimson</strong></a> guitarist <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&amp;q=%22Robert+Fripp%22" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Robert Fripp</strong></a>, whose signature fretwork is all over the album's standout moments. For many this album stands out as one of Bowie's great achievements. He was able to take the themes and experimentation of <i>Low</i> and merge them with some of his most emotive and expressive performances. Ten tracks in all. Released by <a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/search?type=product&amp;q=Parlophone" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Parlophone</strong></a> on 180 gram vinyl with printed inner sleeve.</p> <ul> <li>180 gram vinyl pressing</li> <li>2017 remaster</li> <li>printed inner sleeve</li> <li>music label: Parlophone 2018</li> </ul> <h6>reviewed by out mind 03/2018</h6>
