Original 2006 Lab review:

You already know what this review is gonna say, right? It's been way too long since the last Clipse album, they're still really awesome, they get the best and weirdest Neptunes beats, etc. It would be funny if it weren't so true. But being that it's true, you should probably just go ahead and buy this now before your cooler friends get it before you! If you need more convincing… "Mr. Me Too" is already a certified Lab bestseller, same with the Slim Thug-featuring "Wamp Wamp," which makes me wanna pound my fist on the desk along with the hook every time someone plays it in the office. Some of the best shit here is stuff that didn't even leak out, though: "Ride Around Shining" features an insane, piano-based minor key beat that I can't even describe (cat walking over Pharrell's keyboard?) and "Trill," while it features a really goofy performance from Pharrell, is still top-notch. Also check "Chinese New Year" with Re-Up Gang mainstay, Roscoe P. Coldchain – "BRRRRAT BRRRRAT, C-C-CAK-CAK." 12 tracks; 48 minutes; no complaints here.

gold colored double vinyl pressing

gatefold sleeve

limited edition

original release year: 2006

music label: Star Trak 2026

reviewed by Chris Lemon-Red 11/2006
