<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Every year, we commission a holiday card from a South Asian artist that we love. This year, it's from the amazing <a href="https://maheswarijanarthanan.com/about" target="_blank">Mathesari Janarthanan</a>!</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">All proceeds from the card goes towards our <a href="https://www.diasporaco.com/blogs/journal/healthcare-access-is-food-justice" title="farm healthcare" target="_blank">farm healthcare program</a> that makes sure all the laborers on our partner farms have access to healthcare!</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Here's her artist statement about the process and context behind the card: </span></p> <p class="">I am an Illustrator & Designer based in San Diego, CA.</p> <p class="">I am originally from Chennai, India where I completed by Bachelors in Visual Communication.</p> <p class="">I remember even when I was a kid I loved drawing rather than playing or doing other things.</p> <p class="">Art is something that inspires me, makes me happy & brings me a lot of joy. I am always interested in the mystical & the magical part of life and I draw inspirations from people, nature and the universe.</p> <p class="">I am a Dreamer and my works portray that with a mix of magic & wonder.
