After years of anticipation, the 5th album (<a href="https://www.turntablelab.com/products/brand-new-daisy-180g-vinyl-lp" target="_blank" title="Brand New Album Daisy 180g Vinyl LP" rel="noopener noreferrer"><i>Daisy</i></a>, the group's last LP, was released in 2009) from the beloved indie rockers is here, and it doesn't disappoint.<span> </span><i>Science Fiction</i><span> </span>is rooted in moving songwriting and melancholy that should be familiar to the band's cult-like fanbase, but Jesse Lacey & co. deliver their thoughts and feels through a more mature sound. The songs are more atmospheric and moody, and this stylistic shift is the very key to Brand New's appeal; the band has always been forward thinking and unafraid to experiment. As with other Brand New LPs, definitely take the time to digest the lyrics and be prepared for a emotional listening experience.
